Back in 2013, I met the talent behind Bailey Michelle Photography. I remember our first real conversation, which took place on two bar stools in the middle of an overcrowded Starbucks right outside the University of Washington. She had just started photographing friends' weddings on the side, thinking nothing much of it. Guys, Bailey didn't even have an Instagram. She told me she didn't know if it was going to even become anything more than a hobby. So...naturally the rest of our time in that Starbucks was therefore spent with me trying to convince her otherwise.
We came out of our coffee date with the goal of someday working together. We wanted to create something beautiful, simple, and pure - something that exemplified our mutual love for the little things.
We chose to create a bridal shoot at the Great Hall at Green Lake because of its sky-high ceilings and bare ivory walls. While designing, I wanted the simplicity of the space to speak for itself. Instead of embellishing with color, we used a mix of ornate decorative items such as the stone vases and columns, as well as the vintage etched glassware, to create a blend of antiquity with contemporary minimalism.
